One fat geek's SUCCESSFUL attempt to regenerate into a not-so-fat geek by watching the entirety of Doctor Who while walking on a treadmill

So... That Didn't Work

Every bit of video from today's vlog is useless. I tried something different with the lavolier microphone, and instead of improving the sound I managed to ruin the entire thing. What can I say, it's a learning process. Tomorrow will be better.

The Second Lap Begins Tomorrow

The Second Lap Begins Tomorrow

Nearly three years ago I began my ridiculous project, to watch every single episode of Doctor Who ever broadcast while walking on a treadmill. It took over two years to get through everything, I burned out two mainboards and one motor, moved on to a second treadmill, walked five million steps and twenty-six hundred miles, and lost sixty five pounds. And yes, I have gained half of that back since I finished. Tomorrow morning, November 23rd, I begin my second lap through the entire history of the show. This time around I will be watching everything in air-date order instead of whatching each spinoff show separately (which admittedly won't make any difference for the better part of a year). More importantly, this time instead of writing about the episodes I will be talking about them in my new vlog "Sweaty Thoughts".

I hope you'll join me.

Yes, I am still alive

Short version:  After giving myself blisters on the balls of my feet last week, I decided to give it a break and allow my feet to heal. Also, I am working on the next evolution of the Time Treadmill. I will be starting the Second Lap very soon now.

I Walked, Didn't I?

I Walked, Didn't I?

So, I'm an idiot. I hobbled myself on the treadmill today, for no good reason. A few days ago I wore a blister on the back of my left heel. This morning it was really hurting when I started on the treadmill, despite readjusting my socks and shoes and adding a moleskin patch. So of course I did the sensible thing, and stopped my workout.

And time drags by real slow

And time drags by real slow

I gotta tell ya, it ain't easy walking three miles on a treadmill when your left heel is rubbed raw. I may need to go shoeless tomorrow. Regardless, I did get in my workout today, and made some slight positive progress in my numbers. Not enough to be inspirational, though. But I'll take what I can get. Especially, I'll take the final assignment for Sapphire & Steel and the very welcome return of P.J. Hammond to the writing duties.
