One fat geek's SUCCESSFUL attempt to regenerate into a not-so-fat geek by watching the entirety of Doctor Who while walking on a treadmill

Here it is, not only a powerhouse Sarah Jane Adventures episode but also the very last thing that David Tennant filmed during his tenure as the Tenth Doctor. Yes, he would later return for the 50th anniversary special, but this right here was the very last episode he shot before handing over the TARDIS to Matt Smith. And somehow I never got around to watching it until today.

So, can I just say.... a hundred and twenty eight sit-ups this morning! That is easily the most sit-ups I have done in one session since I left the Army in 1990. So, that's pretty cool. Also: as of today I am on vacation until January 2nd, 2019, which is also pretty cool. On the not-so-cool side, my low number of workouts over the past two weeks has certainly had the inevitable result. I hope to turn that back around in short order. We'll see how that works out. As for The Sarah Jane Adventures, well...  apparently Rani is not amused by my referring to her as NotMaria.

More back filling today (not that anyone reads this, I know you are all imaginary), because I followed up last week's low-grade illness with this week's resurgence of diverticulitis. So that was fun. Well, honestly, it wasn't awful, it was more going-to-be-awful-if-I-don't-deal-with-it. So I dealt with it. But I barely worked out again this week, and gained back four pounds. Yippee. I also started season three of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

This morning I did 109 sit-ups, the first time I have done more than 100 sit-ups in a session since I left the army more than twenty five years ago. So that's pretty cool. Aside from that, I watched the very last appearance of the Brigadier in the Whoniverse (unless you count CyberBrig, which I most assuredly do not). That was simultaneously pretty cool and incredibly sad.

I am back-dating this, because it is nearly a week later. Last week was... well, not awful but not awesome. My wife was sick with the flu that is going around, and I had just enough of it to give me a headache and not want to risk working out too much. On this day I did fifty push-ups and staggered through an hour on the treadmill, while watching a fairly mediocre episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. After the weakness of the previous episode, I hope this isn't a long-term trend.

I did one hundred push-ups this morning! Back in the summer I had reached the point where I was consistently doing a hundred push-ups per day, but then I put my shoulder out because of it. It took multiple chiropractic adjustments combined with stretching and other work in order to get my right arm back to normal, and I have slowly been working my way back up ever since. Today I finally hit that goal again, and it felt amazing! Well, that plus exhausting. I have no intention of going back to the daily thing, that's what knocked it out to begin with, but I will absolutely continue to alternate between the hundred pushups on one day followed by continuing to up my reps in sit-ups until I hit two hundred per day there. I've got a long way to go on that count. In other news, I was surprised to see future companion Graham show up on today's SJA episode, with actor Bradley Walsh showing up as the bad guy. This show continues to surprise and delight me.

Another day I slept in instead of working out at 6am, but I got it done later in the day. Today was a sit-ups day (82!), and theoretically tomorrow is the day I get back up to 100+ push-ups in a day. We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, today was Maria's last episode as a series regular on The Sarah Jane Adventures. I gather the actress decided she needed to focus on school instead of acting, so she was written gracefully out of the show while still leaving the door open (and she pops up in person at least one more time this season). As exits go, it was pretty well done...

Weird day today, workout-wise. I just couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough to get it done in the morning, so I put it off until after work. Even so, I manged over 90 push-ups today which is awesome. I expect I should be back up to 100 by next week sometime. I also wrapped up the first season of The Sarah Jane Adventures today, and it was freakin' awesome.
