So. This morning I walked on the treadmill for 55 minutes. I also watched episodes 3 and 4 of The Evil of the Daleks. Out my window I could see the grass growing and the clouds drifting by. Across the way I could hear a work crew starting in on re-roofing another house in our neighborhood. All those things happening outside were infinitely more interesting than what was happening at Maxtible Mansion.
Let's talk about that.
The Evil of the Daleks - Episodes 3 & 4
(TARDIS Data Core recap)
Actually, you know what? Let's not talk about that. Seriously. I mean, it wasn't Planet of the Giants awful, it was just generically boring and padded. The plot, such as it is, involves Jamie going off in search of Victoria in order to free her, and Victoria being moved to another location. I was wrong in my guess that Jamie would be gone in episode 3, but I was absolutely correct that the Doctor would take a holiday for episode 4. He appeared on screen for a sum total of about sixty seconds, all of which featured no other actors and which could have been filmed the week before. In terms of moving the plot forward, well... the plot was not moved forward in any measurable way.
Dear god I have three more episodes of this to wade through this weekend. At least I have the first appearance of an Emperor Dalek to look forward to.
