My current goal has been to be solidly below 260 by Thanksgiving, and today I weighed in at 255. I think it is safe to say that I am hitting that goal (although I also expect to bounce up a bit tomorrow, since I am certain I was exceptionally dehydrated this morning). So that's nice. My next goal is to back below 250 by Christmas, which I think is very achievable. Aside from that, I watched the penultimate episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day today. Yay?

Miracle Day: The Gathering

The start of this episode skips ahead two months, with the world having fallen into a huge financial depression and the emergence of an effective police state pretty much everywhere. Rex has gone back to work at the CIA, reporting to Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation who is continuing to pose as a government agent. Also, it turns out that the CIA has a mole because you can't have any kind of government agency plot line without an evil mole. This is me rolling my eyes.

Meanwhile, Gwen is back in Swansea hiding her legally-dead father in a hidden room in the basement from the government BringOutYourDeadPolice, and Jack & Esther are hiding out in Scotland. There is a whole bunch of sound and fury over keeping DeadDad out of government hands, before he is ultimately handed over to the government so that the plot thread can be finished and move on to the endgame.j

Which, it turns out, surrounds the fact that the evil Three Families have apparently dug a tunnel through the entire Earth running from Buenos Aires to Shanghai, which houses The Blessing which is the source of the Miracle. And so, thank God, we have finally come to the big payoff with half the team in Argentina and the other half in China, ready please dear God end this series tomorrow so I can move on to something more enjoyable.
