That's All I Needed, a Good Cup of Tea!

That's All I Needed, a Good Cup of Tea!

Merry Christmas! Now that I am into the modern series, it will be Christmas roughly every two weeks for the next few months. Cheerful! I am in the midst of a run-up to a software release, so I've been buried in code all day. I don't have much time to spend on this one.

But I did spend seventy minutes on the treadmill this morning watching the 2005 Children in Need special and then the Tenth Doctor's inaugural adventure. So let's talk about that.

Farting Aliens (sigh), Part Three

Farting Aliens (sigh), Part Three

The inaugural season of the revived Doctor Who had just finished a remarkable run of five episodes, four of which were superior and the fifth of which was at least very good. In another week it would launch into the big two-part season finale. Sandwiched in between those remarkable sequences, however, apparently Russell T Davies thought to himself, "what this show really needs is another hour of flatulence."

God help me, let's talk about it.

Farting Aliens, Part Two

Farting Aliens, Part Two

I did forty push-ups this morning. Forty! How cool is that? Not so bad for a guy who could barely do three just a few weeks ago. In other happy news, I have an theatre audition in... (checks my watch)... two and a half hours. Wish me luck. I feel good about it, but you just never know. So, lots of good things happening today.

Then again, I watched the second half of the farting alien story today, so there's that. Let's talk about it.

And here we are. After three hundred and eighty seven days on the Time Treadmill, I have finally arrived in the twenty first century with NuWho. It hardly seems possible. For me it was only two days ago that I said goodbye to the classic series, but those forty eight hours represent a sixteen-year jump from 1989 to 2005. It's a whole new world. But before I dove into the Ninth Doctor, I decided to spend an extra seven minutes with the Eighth Doctor.

So let's talk about them both.
