One fat geek's SUCCESSFUL attempt to regenerate into a not-so-fat geek by watching the entirety of Doctor Who while walking on a treadmill

Lots of People Have Died and Gone On to Do Really Well for Themselves

I was still off my pace a bit today, but I did manage 76 push ups. So that was nice. I expect that I will break 80 on Wednesday. I also weighed in at under 255 for the first time in nearly a month, so that was particularly nice. I really want to get back below 250 before Halloween. We'll see how that goes.

Dead Man Walking

(TARDIS Data Core recap)

After Owen's shocking death at the end of the previous episode, this story opens with Martha about to do the autopsy. She is interrupted by Jack, who orders that nobody do anything until he gets back. Then he runs about and gets a Tarot reading, because ok whatever, then he sneaks into a Weevil-infested church and steals the other Infinity Gauntlet Resurrection Glove, and then he goes back to the Hub and drags Owen back to life in order to get the security codes for some BS WhateverLocker. When Owen's two minutes of resurrection are over, everyone has a good cry. And then Owen sits up and points out that he's actually not quite dead yet. Oops.

Well, I mean, he is still dead but he is up and walking around. He is also acting as a gateway for some kind of Angel of Death to come through into our world and kill everyone. So that's not good.

There's a bunch of running around and yelling, Martha continues to be wasted in the plot, and int he end Owen faces off with the Grim Reaper directly and boots his bony ass back to hell. So... yay for Owen?

This story was moderately better than the previous one, but still not nearly as good as first half of the season. By the end of the episode Owen is still undead, so of course tomorrow's episode is going to be more of that plot. Awesome. The whole point of my looking forward to Owen dying was for his character to go away, not for him to continue to hang around as a literal zombie shambling onward through he plot. Oh, well.
