Farewell, Donna Noble

Farewell, Donna Noble

Today is the first time in the fifteen months of this ridiculous project that I have completely mis-timed my treadmill session length. I always set it for 55 minutes, except for specials that run longer than a normal episode. What I forgot was that today's episode ran a full 65 minutes as the season finale. So as I was watching my treadmill abruptly stopped with its programmed time finished. I was so wrapped up in the ending of the story that I literally stood there for ten minutes transfixed.

So let's talk about that.

So, I spent the day today wearing my son's clothes. How weird is that? Seriously, because of Reasons, I wound up wearing a pair of his shorts and one of his t-shirts, and they fit my just fine. My Mini-Me is just... me I guess. I also didn't do my workout until evening because frankly I was just too dang lazy to get out of bet at 6am. I can't miss any more days, though. I have counted it out, and if I do not skip any more days then i will finish on Sunday, August 5th. I only have one day for wiggle room, because on Tuesday the 7th I fly to Las Vegas for work and I absolutely want to finish this ridiculous project before I go.

Farewell, River Song

Farewell, River Song

It's been a bit of a long day today. On the upside, I got to sleep in. Also on the upside, since our new roof was done on Friday it was totally fine that it's been raining non-stop yesterday and today. For the first time in eight months I am not worried about leaks or rotting wood, because we finally have solid protection. On the downside, my autistic son was adamant about going to Epcot today to visit Alice and Snow White but I knew darn well that neither of them would be out in the rain. He was twitching and shouting and on the verge of a complete meltdown before we compromised and went to the Magic Kingdom instead to visit Tinkerbell since she is indoors. Then we got very lucky and had a rare Snow White visit, which made him very happy indeed. So it all turned out okay, it was just a little stressful along the way.

Oh, and I also watched River Song die today. So let's talk about that.

Family Is Complicated

Family Is Complicated

I have slam-;packed days for the next few days. I still definitely intend to hit the treadmill tomorrow morning, and I very much hope to do so sometime on Friday but it may get put off until evening. Tomorrow not only is our roof being replaced, but I have prep for a photo session on Friday plus a rehearsal for my cabaret at the Orlando Fringe Festival, plus very likely a trip to Disney with my son to avoid being in the house while said roof is being replaced. Then on Friday I have my first professional photo session to get acting headshots. It's all very exciting. As for today, I did manage treadmill and push-ups, although sit-ups fell by the wayside yet again. Oops.

Good news! Eight months after Hurricane Irma we are finally getting our roof replaced. It's been a bit of a slog going round and round with the insurance company. In the grand scheme of things we are very fortunate in that we had no major structural damage, but I will be very relieved to have the roof done before the rainy season in Florida starts up in the next few weeks. The workers may be here tomorrow, or else the next day, which may or may not disrupt my treadmill time.

But I did get on the treadmill today, so let's talk Doctor Who.

When Potatoes Attack

When Potatoes Attack

I'll be honest right up front: I am phoning this one in today. I overslept, didn't do my usual pre-treadmill workout, and barely managed to get my treadmill time in. Today was a morass of meetings and troubleshooting and re-writing code, and tonight I just want to crawl into bed.

But before I can do that I need to get this done, so let's talk Doctor Who.

The Circle Must Be Broken

The Circle Must Be Broken

Treadmill kicked my butt this morning. Okay, maybe it had something to do with me being out late last night, then getting up this morning and mowing the lawn, then doing a full set of pushups, and then hitting the treadmill, but it still kicked my butt. The funny thing is that because I was dragging so much and went a little bit slower than usual, I missed hitting the 1,500 mile mark today by two-hundredths of a mile. Like, if I would have just gone a tenth of a mile per hour faster for a few minutes I totally would have hit that milestone today. Oops.

What I did do, though, was see the first mention of the DoctorDonna. So let's talk about that.
