Not only did I not do any push-ups today, but I actually ended up at Urgent Care. I have a sinus infection, and am  now on antibiotics. Hopefully they will kick in rapidly, because four days from now I have a full run through of my Fringe show plus two performances. Right now I can't even sing a note. Should make for an interesting weekend.

No pushups today. I barely slept the night before, I am coming down with a cold or virus, I had a teaser performance for my Fringe show in the evening, and I am sure I can come up with a few other excuses. On the other hand, I am still in the midst of the Specials, which all have longer running times, so I put in more work on the treadmill than a normal day. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Happy Mother's Day! I just got home from visiting with my mom, so that's nice. I am also dead tired, so this is going to be a brief one.

Let's talk about the Time Lord Victorious.

This morning I hit a really cool milestone in my 100-pushups-per-day thing: I did all one hundred push-ups (five sets of twenty, with two minutes between each set) in cadence without breaking. I have never, ever managed that before. One other time I managed all one hundred without my knees touching the ground, but I have always had to pause at some point (or, more likely, several points), but this morning was unique. I just hammered out each set in perfect cadence and in perfect form. How cool is that? I ain't gonna lie, my arms were screaming on those last twenty, but I just powered through it. I am pretty damn proud of myself. If this becomes the norm then I will shift to four sets of twenty five, but I'm sure that's a bit away yet.

WARNING: Gross story ahead, you've been warned. So, my adult autistic son had to go to the doctor today. (No, not the Doctor, just a doctor) He is basically non-verbal and can't tell us what is going on, but he gave some signs of having an ear infection and/or a sinus infection. The good news: he didn't have an ear infection. The bad news: that's probably because his ears were so plugged with wax that no infection could penetrate the protective seal. It took ear drops plus a half dozen rounds of irrigation to flush out his ears, and you would not believe the chunky bits that came out. Oddly enough, ever since his doctor visit he has been playing his videos and music at a noticeably lower volume with no prompting. Poor guy. He also had the beginnings of a sinus infection, so now he is on antibiotics to fight that off. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon.

Today is the first time in the fifteen months of this ridiculous project that I have completely mis-timed my treadmill session length. I always set it for 55 minutes, except for specials that run longer than a normal episode. What I forgot was that today's episode ran a full 65 minutes as the season finale. So as I was watching my treadmill abruptly stopped with its programmed time finished. I was so wrapped up in the ending of the story that I literally stood there for ten minutes transfixed. 

So let's talk about that.

So, I spent the day today wearing my son's clothes. How weird is that? Seriously, because of Reasons, I wound up wearing a pair of his shorts and one of his t-shirts, and they fit my just fine. My Mini-Me is just... me I guess. I also didn't do my workout until evening because frankly I was just too dang lazy to get out of bet at 6am. I can't miss any more days, though. I have counted it out, and if I do not skip any more days then i will finish on Sunday, August 5th. I only have one day for wiggle room, because on Tuesday the 7th I fly to Las Vegas for work and I absolutely want to finish this ridiculous project before I go.

You know, I really gotta start writing these things earlier in the day...

I feel bad, today's episode is such a good one it deserves a much longer post, but it's late and I need to get to bed. It's been a crazy day full of meetings and unexpected side trips, plus a night out at the theatre, and here we are.

It's been a bit of a long day today. On the upside, I got to sleep in. Also on the upside, since our new roof was done on Friday it was totally fine that it's been raining non-stop yesterday and today. For the first time in eight months I am not worried about leaks or rotting wood, because we finally have solid protection. On the downside, my autistic son was adamant about going to Epcot today to visit Alice and Snow White but I knew darn well that neither of them would be out in the rain. He was twitching and shouting and on the verge of a complete meltdown before we compromised and went to the Magic Kingdom instead to visit Tinkerbell since she is indoors. Then we got very lucky and had a rare Snow White visit, which made him very happy indeed. So it all turned out okay, it was just a little stressful along the way.

Oh, and I also watched River Song die today. So let's talk about that.
